Type
Vigna Allegra is the highest expression of the Montecucco DOCG. The Sangiovese grapes used are carefully selected during harvest and fermented in oak vats at a controlled temperature. The wine is then aged in large wooden barrels according to the traditional Tuscan method, fully preserving the quality and intensity of the grape variety.
Vinification
The Sangiovese grapes were carefully selected and fermented in 50 HL oak vats at a controlled temperature to preserve the fruity aromas and freshness typical of the variety. After fermentation, the wine was aged with care and dedication in 50 HL oak barrels for at least 36 months, then further refined in the bottle for at least 12 months before release.
Tasting
Aging in 50 HL oak barrels for at least 30 months gives this wine extraordinary complexity. In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red color with notes of ripe red fruits, chocolate, and tobacco. On the palate, Vigna Allegra Riserva is rich and powerful, with structured tannins and a long, persistent finish. A wine of great character, perfect to pair with hearty red meat dishes, sauces, and aged cheeses.
